Water Ski Package FAQs
What Size Water Ski Should I Buy?
Before choosing the right water ski size, you must know several variables. Here's a quick breakdown of the elements to consider when sizing water ski packages.
- Weight - Heavier skiers will need longer and wider skis. If the ski or skis will be used by multiple people, buy them long enough for the heaviest person.
- Skill Level - Newer skiers need wider and longer skis to help them get out of the water more easily. As they progress in skill, they can switch to shorter skis as needed.
- Types of Water Skis - Different size ranges are available based on the type of water ski you’re purchasing. A Slalom water ski is a single ski that is generally longer and thinner than combo water skis, which come in pairs.
How are Water Ski Bindings Sized?
Water ski bindings are sized based on whether the boots are open or closed-toe. Open-toe boots fit a range of sizes (i.e., 4-8, 7.5-10.5, 10-14), making them ideal for multiple skiers using the same waterski. Closed-toe bindings are generally sized the same way as regular shoes. However, some brands may have slightly different measurements, so it's best to try them on or call us so we can help before making a final decision if possible.
If you are shopping for closed-toe bindings, it's always better to size up than down, just to be safe. However, make sure the boot is still snug around the foot so it doesn't slip off while you are skiing.
